Troubleshooting

If you are having trouble setting up your Momento™ frame, read through some of our troubleshooting tips. If you continue to have problems, please contact our support team at MomentoSupport@imate.com.

Wireless Connection

If you are unable to detect a wireless network, try the following:
  • Make sure your router is turned on
  • Make sure your Momento is within range of your wireless router
  • If your network is hidden, select 'my network is hidden'

If you are unable to connect to a wireless network, try the following:

  • Double-check that you have entered the correct security key (WEP or WPA-PSK) if necessary. An incorrectly entered security key is a very common cause of failed connections.
  • Make sure you have selected the correct wireless network
  • Try rebooting your wireless router
  • Try rebooting your Momento. Turn your Momento off, wait for ten seconds, and turn it back on.
  • If your wireless router uses MAC address filtering, enter your Momento MAC address in the router's setting page. The MAC address is displayed in the Show Current Wireless Settings page on your Momento.

Computer Connection

If you are unable to find the computer, try the following:
  • Make sure you have Windows Media Player 11 installed on your computer
  • Make sure your computer is turned on
  • Make sure you are connected to the same wireless network as your computer
  • Make sure you have enabled sharing (see the Set Up section of this guide for information) on your computer.
  • Make sure you do not have Windows Firewall enabled
If you see a No picture found error, try the following:
  • Make sure your wireless network connection is correct
  • Make sure you are connected to your computer
  • Make sure you have pictures in the your sharing folder (Windows® XP)
  • Make sure you have fully enabled media sharing in Windows Media Player. To make sure this option is checked:
    1. Select Start_Programs_Windows Media Player.
    2. Select Library_Media Sharing.
    3. Select Settings
    4. Make sure Pictures is checked under Media Types
    5. Select All Ratings under Star Ratings
    6. Select OK.

Remote Control

If your Momento is not responding to your remote:
  • Reboot your Momento™
  • Replace the battery
  • Re-associate your remote. To associate the remote:
    1. With your Momento turned off, hold down the play and mode buttons on the remote for 3 seconds.
    2. Now hold down just the play button on the remote and turn the Momento on.
    3. Release the play button once the frame has booted into the slideshow. The remote should now work with your frame. If your Momento remote is controlling multiple frames.
